good GRIEF black cabs are so expensive these days. District line from Paddington borked when I got there so jumped in a cab. THIRTY ONE QUID to Fulham, FFS.

Or indeed if you're anxious about cycling in London, not reasonably young/fit, don't want to risk your life in traffic ... not everyone can or wants to cycle.
Everything's gone nuts. I took a minicab a while ago from Kidlington in Oxford to the Churchill hospital in Oxford, about 6 miles and paid £55 return!
Laaawwwdd. That's taking the piss. Being in SE London obviously never bothered to use one, thankfully we are blessed with an array of excellent buses when the trains have a fit of the sullens.
Thirty one British pounds?!?!? I haven't used a black cab in about a decade and I don't remember the West End to Docklands at 2am costing that much.....
yeah. It'll be a while before I do it again. Trouble is there isn't an alternative tube route from Paddington to Daphne Towers. Only other option is a very slow patchwork of buses.
I mean, I could have prebooked an Addison Lee for a fixed price, but I wasn't planning to get a cab. I was planning to get the tube, but it was buggered up. And there aren't any alternative tube routes from Paddington to home, just a slow patchwork of buses
it's much easier than it used to be to use buses, I think, with the stops being announced in the bus and of course apps like Citymapper to help you work them out. I'm fine with buses but generally I prefer the Tube as it's faster
It would be so much better with fixed fares. Is there anything worse that sitting in a traffic jam watching the meter ticking up the £s? And since TfL has done its utmost to make driving in London so difficult, every journey is longer and slower and more expensive.

And probably get change from a twenty.
Outrageous.
