I lost faith in Aotearoa's media when I asked a question around this during the Parliament occupation.

They deliberately amplified minority viewpoints and rule breaking because they thought that stories about people following the rules were too boring.

It’s a global problem though with journalism, distancing yourself from the decision to cover/not cover something because ‘it’s not our job to decide that’ while failing to acknowledge that as a result you’ve created a system that is easily exploited by bad faith actors.
