At least two parliamentarians, multiple place names and a lot of capital: my research uncovers significant NZ connections with Caribbean slavery. buttondown.com/unsettling/a...

Weird déjà vu moment reading through a new bill today, only to realise I’d read part of it in a different bill six months ago. No explanation given. Minister’s office says “it’s complicated”.

The Govt - esp ACT - talks a big game about people being independent but now seems to be wanting 18 and 19-year-olds on Jobseeker to rely on their parents again under this “parental test” scheme aka kicking kids off the benefit.

Guess Winston got his way, huh?

Bro, your entire party came out to support a protest TWICE now. Get the vibes.

Huge crowd at Parliament fighting for pay equity. I’m guessing a couple of thousand people at least.

When even the Herald comes out with this, you know you’re losing the comms game.

We absolutely can and should talk about gendered abuse, but it’s disingenuous to go off about the female columnists in national newspaper who actually put their names to their opinions rather than acknowledging most abuse comes from men behind anonymous accounts.

Remember during Covid when all those “unskilled” jobs were actually the ones deemed essential. While many with “important” jobs sat around baking bread. Many of those essential roles are the ones being impacted by pay equity shafting. Praised then, scoffed at now. Shame on this Government.
