Chairman of M&S Archie Norman tells me on Times Radio that Brexit means they've had to hire a warehouse just to store the paperwork needed to export to the Republic of Ireland….

The EU had full border checks up and running from day one after Brexshit. The Brutish still haven't implemented the checks they voted for in all their wisdumb.
You're just a laughable little "man". Try sending something through Calais and see whether your paperwork gets checked or not. You English have the habit of just repeating everything you hear in your mendacious media without any critical thinking. So grateful your rotten "country" is out.
So why are people like that not shouting from the rooftops how we should aim to rejoin the EU? Make the government's lives really difficult on the subject until something finally gives. This is all just so tedious and unnecessary.
I'm cynical about most BIG claims. Where is this warehouse? How full is it? Are M&S using it for anything else? And aren't M&S notoriously bad for sizing anyway?
Undoubtedly. I'd love to see the Excel sheet that grew a sheet of paper into a warehouse. Presumably every other trader also has a warehouse for paperwork.
To store. They put the paperwork in a filing cabinet and leave it there.
Have you seen the very end of Indiana Jones and Raiders of the lost Ark. That's a warehouse. Think along those lines 🤦🏻♂️
All customs entries are online, as are Transit documents. It’s very rare that original documents are needed. Ask M&S why they need all their documents as originals.
It's largely electronic, more importantly it's not an issue for us as we weren't stupid enough to leave our largest market and screw our own exporters. If you want to export into the Single Market and Northern Ireland then you follow the rules.
More like scared to leave your market. The growth is in Asia and the US.
So, how do you feel about the mercosur deal the EU just signed? Seems pretty stupid idea to undercut your own farmers and piss off the Americans, but you do you I guess.
We're grand thanks. Just get that sea border up and running properly, and remember to send Sammy and the lads a Christmas card to say sorry for backstabbing them.
Yeah I’m not arguing with you. I have no idea if he supported Brexit or not, but he was tasked with helping shape the industrial systems that would be used post-Brexit. Seems like he left fairly quickly and has complained about them ever since.

The EU. Protecting its borders. Robust.

I seem to remember the EU promising a digital customs window in the late 1990s.
"The EU aims to fully implement these electronic systems by the end of 2025. Until then, certain procedures may still require paper documentation"

So yeah, he did a shit job.
Is Archie bemoaning the fact it is more difficult to supply European Countries after Britain leaves Europe...
Err... ahem... duh !!!
