I saw an interview with Tim Minear saying the death was about giving the show stakes again, and like .. sure? But also, we're in season EIGHT of Chaotic Sexy Firefighter Show. No one's coming here for real stakes. We're here for found family, absurd emergencies, your ship of choice, and Kenny Choi.

They’re gonna absolutely tank their viewership. A lot of the older demo specifically watched for x character and now!! Violating the only solid worldbuilding rule you have after 8 seasons and deciding it after you’d written half the season is truly wild. Just a shockingly stupid choice.
