They’ve been attacking higher ed for years convincing young people that college is not necessary and that a degree will get them nowhere. Now, AI is doing the research, writing, critical thinking that is taught in college and students are heavily relying on AI. They’re playing right into it.
The funny thing is, everyone thinks AI is gonna take over factory jobs. Nope, that's relatively low-paying jobs. The billionaire AI financial backers have their eyes set on a much more expensive wage demographic. Oh, well.
This is why they keep pushing the trades only and telling young people they can work at a factory and their kids can work at a factory and be happy the rest of their lives. They’re really not against higher education they just don’t want everyone to be educated. It doesn’t benefit their bottom line.
"You can buy a house! ( with minium wage at a factory job ). Your kids can buy a house! ( with minimum wage at a factory job )".
The so-called American dream that completely ignores the fact that minimum-wage workers can barely afford food.
Whatever the fallout from intellectual property and job stealing big tech we can gain comfort that a sunsetting felonious grifter and his tag along white supremacist death cult are at the helm.
This is just one reason why there should be universal basic income for everyone. It’s a safety net for everyone while they figure out what the post-AI jobs landscape looks like. I’m not proposing a temporary “unemployment benefits” scheme. It needs to be a permanent system.
