She was 20 y/o in 1963.
Walking along the street a man ran up to her & said:
"Vous, vous êtes américaine, c'est vrai?
Kennedy a été assassiné."
She managed to stutter that she was Irish but thanked him & immediately called her mammy back home in Dublin

JFK: I was in 3rd grade. It was 3pm on the west coast. We were told to sutnat our desks and putnour head down.
RFK: Saw film of it on TV at home.
I was 12, and not best pleased.
(Always liked the very Scouse use of ‘they’ - a linguistic quirk not early adoption of a conspiracy theory)
