The cat was yowling as I came downstairs this morning, and it turns out he was saying ‘look out mate, I’ve chucked up on the bottom step, careful you don’t tre— ok never mind’.

It is, indeed. Lucy is nothing if not meticulous in her aim. She manages to get at least two steps, and spill over the side to the floor below which takes talent!
Mine did the same last night at 2am mraaw mraaaw, but it was a mouse she brought up to my room to show off still alive. She was very proud and proceeded to release and catch it a few times and well.... mice should know not to come in her house.
We're stepping in mouse bits 2 mornings in a row. My cat(s) seems to be completely disassembling mice during the night. Is that a thread on the rug ... pick up lone mouse tail 😳 What's this ... oh a mouse's foot. No warnings ... just growling in the dark 😼
And always where you are likely to step. (Well, except that time you find the mummified vomit behind the couch. Probably missed the intended placement?)
My cat was yowling the other night and I found out why when I saw a bat flying upstairs. Thanks a lot Miss Kitty. It would cost almost $500 to have hunter find and release it outside.
Mine never warns me till I see the results or them doing it, the worst was when Chester did a recreation of the Exorcist on a sofa arm and it went everywhere
One of my four was whining at me this morning, and I finally noticed that one of the others had barfed in the food dishes. Ah, pet ownership is so relaxing.
Got outta bed at 3 am, walked to the bathroom in the dark and squashed an already dead mouse with my foot! Cat watched and literally said “good job finishing him off mom! “

My cats just silently laugh at me (I'm sure).
Cat gags anywhere else in the house? Ya...I'll "find" that in the morning.🤞🏼😴 My cats never warn me.😩
