This is another big point in favor of FabFilter. I can just right click on a parameter and get it's envelope in Reaper. A small, but very appreciated addition.

I love the Pro-Q 4. I use the spectral mode a lot for things like de-essing and suppressing peak resonances. It's also a great dynamic compressor. And with the added analog saturation modes, it's like a highly tweakable channel strip.

It does! The EQ matching alone probably saved me an hour already, and I just figured out how to get it to remove those resonante whistly "esses" which often don't get caught by de-essers. So, I think I'm sold.

Can't get it to work. When reading the source instance/track I see a curve appear but the Match button is greyed out. Maybe @fabfilter.com can help me?

I did a test by overdriving a sine wave. Using the spectral mode I found out it perfectly removed the harmonics. EQ matching I have not yet used. Sometimes I need it, but not very often. Good to hear it is good at that!

BTW, I'm forever grateful for you mentioning the "Show track/take envelope for last touched FX parameter"" action in a video some years ago. I use that all the time and probably wouldn't have figured it out on my own.

I do love the "mad scientist" mentality of the folk at Melda, but even with MAutoDynamicEQ, I wasn't able to get a very good result. I take UI with a grain of salt, but it's only marginally cheaper, and feels slower to get things done.

And I've generally reached for Izotope's Neutron Advanced for my all-purpose sound-fiddling for the last 5 years or so, but i'm finding there's certain things it can't do to my satifaction. I do think it's incredibly fast to work with though, and that's worth a lot to me.

Yes! Totally worth it. It’s my favorite EQ, but I have also worked with mixers and engineers much better than me, they always seem to have it in their signal chain as well. Feels like it’s close to an industry standard at this point.

Thanks Craig. It's nice when the industry standards are standard because they're good tools. I feel like a lot of industry standards just get their status and coast...or try to lock people in somehow. Glad to see FabFilter in the former category :)
