well, he got through to the general so he still has a chance. I'd have loved it far more if he was in third so his humiliation would be complete, now he will grift off of the nomination until November.
It's not a graph at all, though I understand your confusion.
Each row begins with a thin column to indicate party affiliation. The next column has their name, and the background color is either the party (if they won) or white (if they didn't).
That theory works until the third candidate in the list. Despite being a Republican, that person is clear/white... Implying that the colored bars are a portion representation for the top 2, while 3rd and below got virtually 0%.
The colored bars represent who made it to the runoff. Initially when the results come in, all candidate rows are colored mostly white until a winner is projected and their party color covers the whole row.
Frank’s the loser so his name’s not filled in (that’s why the other 2 are all the way filled in, seeming like they got an even # of the votes until you read the %). They’ll both advance to the next round since it’s an open primary.
His red just shows party affiliation, even though that’s also listed elsewhere here 🤷🏻♀️. Cannot confidently say what type of graph it is except stupid (though less stupid then it could be since Vance’s bro lost).
It's a "jungle primary", so the first two go through to the final. So I think it's trying to show that the first two made it (hence the tick) and the third guy was third by quite a lot? But yeah it's still a bizarre graph.
"Has a heart for [x]" is always a red flag for me. Maybe it isn't always used to cover for shitty people but it's the only way I ever see it in politics.
here’s more fun: because the only other candidate got 4.56%, Bowman with his 2,894 votes gets to be utterly humiliated in the general election in the fall as well.
My point is that Vance is nothing to Thiel but a tool. Like a shovel, or an old saw. Vance is a means to an end for Thiel, which is fitting, because JD is definitely a tool.
The Trump Administration is winning elections For Democratic candidates all over The World.
The messaging for the Democratic Party in the USA needs to be, we see you, we hear you and we will fix this and this is how... "cue simple explanations", not the RHETORIC!!
Jungle primary (i.e. nonpartisan); top two candidates advance to the general. If there had been a random Democrat on the ballot, though, Bowman would absolutely not have made it through, even though Pureval’s a lock either way.
Major media trying to be cute with their headlines with almost all saying "JD Vance's half brother advances in mayoral race". Bitch tell the people he only got 12.9% of the vote.
You mean JD’s endorsement didn’t drive flocks of people to vote for his candidate? The same Ohio public servant that perpetuated a lie about his own Haitian American CITIZENS that led to hate crimes and thug militias to upend these people’s lives? I wonder why Ohioans don’t trust JD’s endorsement? 🤔

Or should that be step brother
Made me smile, too...one of the common microaggressions trans people is "Yes, but what is your real name?"
A million math teachers just died.

It would be clearer with more candidates.
It's a terrible, terrible graph.
