Games? Take your pick from the numerous free to play games. The subscription services that give you a bunch of new games every month. Or wait long enough and you can find just about any game not made by Nintendo for like $10 on a sale. Even if you're broke, you'll never run out of games to play.

$2250 just on hardware, without handhelds or PC
XSX - $500

I didn't even realize until typing this, but because of the significantly longer generations, it's actually a lot cheaper to keep up with the newest consoles than it used to be.
Maybe! But the industry never followed Nintendo's reluctance to drop prices or have significant sales. So if a game you want is $80, just wait a bit and it'll be $20. You don't need to play every game at launch!
Outside of Nintendo, video games have never been more abundant, affordable, and accessible than they are today.
