I think it was about 12,000 poles bought back for ~$4.5M in 2014 or so. Then another $4.5M to separate the service at some locations, documentation and LED upgrades.
IIRC, after financing costs the deal was cashflow positive in year 1 by about $500,000.
In NYS, often owned by the IOU and this can be an obstacle to upgrading to LED. Our PSC has created a path for LGs to purchase and upgrade their streetlights and many have. But, City of Buffalo still hasn't been able to figured out this out and still hasn't upgraded its 30K lights.

One of my projects back in the day was to buyback the streetlights from SCE and upgrade them to LED at the beginning of the transition to LEDs.

Never mind that the PUC approved rates used 30 year expected useful lifetimes for streetlight poles.
So there were about 1,500-2,000 additional streetlights that stayed utility owned.
