Oh, I see what you're saying--that's why efficacy trials enroll LOTS of participants and have a longer term follow-up.

As someone said, this is looking at safety, so it's a small sample of people. This is a new compound they're studying, there are several safety studies done before the big trial.

It works exactly like this. Follow the incidence of serious effects of virus in large populations +/- vaccination. Covid was data heaven for us. First worldwide rollout of a vaccine for a new disease ever. Look how tu death rate plunges after vaccine rollout
