I think most see the monarchy as a relic that should be disposed of, arguing we should be able to elect the head of state.

Others (me included) see it as a historical quirk that is ultimately meaningless, and not worth the huge amount of pain and cost of reworking the constitution and ...

It's not really seen as much of a big deal here. Eventually, we might replace it, but that would require Canadians to agree on what to replace it with (which would be the trickier part, as was seen in Australia).

Electoral reform is more pressing than the status of the monarchy.

It's not particularly important but does add some cute flavor and pomp. Normal people, and even most politically inclined people don't really have a strong opinion since it doesn't really cost us anything and changing it would require an immense political effort to pop the hood on our constitution.
