They aren’t on payroll, but there are ongoing conversations between Trump, Musk and Putin- those are all well documented and at least in Trump’s case there is likely compromat (though I doubt it’ll hurt him much given that little hurts him).

I think the aligned interests point requires a lot more exploration. Obviously Putin's interests are nationalist-imperialist (though he's also reported to have acquired huge wealth), but it's a lot less clear that Trump and Musk's behaviour ultimately is concerned with US imperialism...

That's the question, right. I guess what we are seeing right now is a renewed US imperialism and thinking along spheres of influence not unlike Putin's (Russia can have Ukraine, we can have Greenland and Canada etc).

So what happens if Trump and Putin die of old age. Neither of these guys are young men and both of them are looking more haggard these days. Musk could overdose, but let's assume that doesn't happen. Would JD Vance coordinate with Medvedev and Thiel, along with Musk to keep this klepto train rollin?
