He can’t do it alone. Kobe had Shaq/Pau, LeBron had Wade/Bosh/Love/Irving, Duncan had Robinson/Parker/Ginobili, Jordan had Pippen, Bird/McHale/Parrish, Magic/Kareem, go on down the line. Plus the league is deeper than it’s been since pre-ABA. No one repeats anymore.
I look at it a bit differently. As you point out, there are no true juggernauts out there. I give zero value to All-Star selection, but the teams remaining have no more than 2 All-Stars.
That’s the exact landscape where an all-time great should go on a multi-year run!
I mean, he beat a team a lot of people said were the 2d best team in the conference and he’s giving an historically good 68 win team everything they can handle. Maybe you can ding him for last year but Murray was dogshit in the playoffs and the rest of the team are just role players.
Yeah, most of the people I read and listen to do. Shai had an all time guard year, JW is an all star and they are extremely deep. Good on O and truly exceptional D.

Look at the teams they’ve lost to during his prime. We’re not talking about juggernauts here.

OKC had a great year, but does anyone think they’re an all-time team like their record indicates?
