Thought it was interesting on Puck Soup when they remarked that VGK’s comeback chances were slim because “McDavid likely goes for 3+ points once in the next three games”. It was a clear exaggeration, but only slightly. In 84GP, McDavid has 20 3+ point games. By contrast, Matthews has 4 in 65GP.

Non-Leafs fans are going to hate this so just ignore me, whatever, but I can’t even describe how frustrating it is that one clear way to win in hockey is to be dirty as hell and dare them to try to call it all, and that option simply isn’t open to the Leafs.

I’ve seen a lot of praise for Jokic this playoffs, and rightfully so, he’s been great. But I find it interesting that when Denver (likely) loses this week, the Nuggets will have only advanced past the second round in twice in 10 years in the Jokic era.
