Interesting warranties in a new electric car I'm reviewing in a few weeks time.
7-year/160,000km warranty on the vehicle – plus 8 years/240,000km on the high-voltage battery.
Repeat after me:
The battery will last longer than the car.
The battery will last longer than the car.

I guess this might change if small garages are willing/ able to adapt.
Trade-off of EV's less to go wrong but needs specialist, to ICE's more to go wrong but more fix options.
You do realise an EV also has things like a bodyshell, seats, headlights, wheels, don't you?
Saying a lack of specialist repair businesses could be a long term problem shouldn't be controversial.
Repeat after me:
The MacBook will last longer then the battery...
Just want to underline the fact that the battery pack in a modern electric vehicle is a very different proposition.
That's over 28 years of average yearly US driving equivalent.
Or could it be that you're just making stuff up because you, for some perverse reason, don't like the idea that modern EV batteries are made to last.
Probably a bit thick lol 😂
But mostly they are still in the cars they were built for and serving the drivers beyond the life of typical ICE car lifetime as they are more reliable with less to go wrong.
It's the same thing for ICEs. There are still used cars that old sold privately. The risk of an engine issue with presumably high mileage reflects in the price.
I’m still driving a 1969 VW bug
Now apply that to a 7 year warranty, gets us to 35years for car, 8 years for battery is 40 years.
I recently sold my 1994 car, with around 400,000km on the clock, to someone who's almost certainly going to put another 100,000 or more on it.
The longer the warranty, the longer the car is expected to last, since the manufacturer only wants to cover a small portion of the life.
Spread the word!
10k, so it must be longer than the car 😜
They have been promising solid state wonder batteries for decades, but all they do is announce it'll be ready in X years time, when that date comes and goes they issue another press release.
Competition just delivers.
They're too expensive, no used ones to buy, and I can't afford one even if I tried.
Also, there's not a lot of choices.
I frankly wouldn't buy a Tesla if I had to.
I do like the looks of the Ford ⚡Lightning.
A truck, that looks like a truck.
