Oh okay, under 2. My other tip is ask the flight staff for a garbage bag when you get on the plane. They're happy to give it to you, and it keeps all of the snacks wrappers and wipes contained and manageable.
If 'toddler' means a child over 2 years, Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) is a pretty safe way to make sure they have no allergic reactions to anything on the plane. It also has drowsiness as a side effect so most kids will sleep for a few hours after taking it.
Oh brother. 8-9 hour flight.
Well, hopefully they will sleep! Bring snacks, water, entertainment, headphones.
Good luck to you!
Also, enjoy the trip. Eat everything
Yeah. With any luck they’ll sleep, but it’ll probably be on you. I wouldn’t count on getting any sleep yourself. Also make sure you have multiple changes of clothes for the little one. Planes have a way of sparking explosive eruptions at both ends.
Yeah, I went to Thailand with a 1.5yo. 20 hours of no sleep for him, just running around the plane non-stop...no movies, no sleep, nothing for mom and dad 😭
I can’t sleep on planes so not expecting to get much myself, but hope the kid does. Have experience with the last point on more than a few occasions on shorter flights.
I have advice: buy them their own seat and use the car seat. We did lap baby on a short flight and it was fine, you’re gonna wish you paid for that seat no matter what it cost.
Those little apple sauce or similar pouches are good for that too.
Two years ago my kid and I flew to LA to watch a soccer team and I packed six of those in his backpack for him for the flight there and back. He ate all six on the way up before I noticed.

I'm not a doctor. This isn't advice.
