Very weird to see writers cheering for A.I. audiobooks. This is the same horrible machine that they want to replace YOU. Audiobook narrators are your peers.

There’s an AI generated stock trading advert that pops up all the time, involving the phrase “I livestream all my trades”. Livestream is pronounced “liv-stream”, because AI. I can’t imagine choosing AI VO, when just seeing the liv-stream dude is enough to make me click away immediately

There’s one for some online counselling service which has little felt people and an awful discordant soundtrack. I watched past the skip button once out of curiosity, and the crying person’s pupils glitched and ran out from underneath their lower eyelid and down their face like tears. Grotesque.

I had to have a conversation with my late mum in law's energy provider. Although the person at the other end said all the right words there was something indefinably 'not quite' about them. Decided I'd probably been talking to a machine (or the provider needs much better scripts on its call centre)

Went to an exhibition last year that had their film at the end using an AI voiceover and it was awful- mispronounced words, strange gapping between run on sentences. I would have been mortified to let that actually be used.

You can create a voice but it won’t know context, spelling/pronunciation quirks, emphasis, breathing spaces etc. a quick visit to YouTube will confirm this :)
