When I worked for the gov, I worked 60-70hr weeks (not counting the 1.5hr commute each way) when home, but was on the road 75% of the time working 70-100hrs per week and away from my family. That's what working for the gov is actually like for a lot of people

Government facilities can be pretty grey and tedious. That's why so many government workers like telework. They can have natural light, the artwork they like, control of the thermostat, and other creature comforts that government buildings lack. But who took all that away?
