U.S. gas prices could very quickly shoot above their year ago level if there is no high level intervention from the White House to de-escalate the Iran situation.

With war spreading through the world, Trump’s plan to use the US Army exclusively against American protesters is looking savvier by the day.

At least Bitcoin is tanking and hurting all the incels simultaneously

This would’ve never happened under Trump

“Vladimir stop!” But it’s our entire foreign policy now.

Trump’s go-to line about every foreign policy crisis and war - from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, to October 7th, to the Israel’s devastation of Gaza - was “It would never have happened if I was president.” Welp.

Pathetic: ABC’s GMA, World News Tonight, This Week, CBS’ Mornings, Evening News, Face the Nation, NBC’s Today, Nightly News, Meet the Press, MSNBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and The Wall Street Journal all failed to cover Trump's new office for ethnic cleansing.

The court just confirmed what we all know: The military belongs on the battlefield, not on our city streets. End the unnecessary militarization of Los Angeles now, Donald Trump. Refusing to do so will only confirm your authoritarian tendencies. The country is watching.

A show about fighting fascism is #1 in America right now…imagine that.

“Trump will lower gas prices”…crude futures spiking +7% on Iran attack. Real tough guy shit.

When oil prices go through the roof this week who will they blame? Biden who’s no longer President? It’s always Biden’s fault. Even when Trump does something bad it’s not his fault. It’s Biden’s who is retired. Makes sense if you’re mentally insane.

But, but … Trump said all the world’s conflicts that broke out over the past four years were the result of Biden’s weakness. I guess the Trump administration’s Mideast diplomacy didn’t work out so well, huh? 🤔

Man, why can't the world just be normal for a few days

US Futures stock market is tanking like a brick thrown into a well. Almost -2% across indexes. Chaos is the new normal and it sucks.

These old white guys who cling to power and want to start nuclear wars…like wtf. There’s never enough bloodshed. They just start a new war. It’s wild people fall right in line. No desire for peace but rather constant conflict.

During the election I remember hearing a guy say Trump would end all these wars because Biden was weak. Ukraine and Gaza wars are still ongoing with Trump in office. And Israel just attacked Iran, starting a whole new war. Wondering what that guy thinks now? Or was he just full of shit.

Another war in the Middle East…but sure Trump has it under control. 😳 Dude is old and senile. He’s causing the world to fall apart.

We have long passed the point when impeachment is justified

I just feel like optically I wouldn’t tackle a sitting senator a few days before a military parade if I’m trying to deny allegations of being an authoritarian.

Maybe I’m naive or stupid, but I don’t feel particularly threatened by undocumented immigrants, whether they live next door or across the country. I feel much more threatened by young white male malcontents fed on a diet of “alpha male” bullshit and grievance culture in a country awash in firearms.

US currency continues to collapse. -9.85% ytd and it’s only June. If this isn’t an indictment of Trump I don’t know what is. How can you claim to rule a country when its currency it’s crashing? Investors are fleeing the dollar.

What’s really going to turn the tide is when the economy takes a hit. Whenever that happens, because of tariffs/immigration, it’s going to break the Cult in pieces. They’ll be people who finally wake up and see this guy is crazy and a sociopath. Then you’ll see calls for impeachment/resignation.

Today they have crossed a deep red line. We, the people, must hold the president and his appointees accountable for this outrageous abuse against American liberty.

These are the times that try men’s souls.

The part of me that still has some hope for this country believes people, seeing the video of Senator Padilla being assaulted, plus brown communities being terrorized in LA, will be too much for the majority. But, then again, this is America, so...

Have faith…he’s going to be forced to resign like Nixon. The uglier this gets and the more his approval rating tanks the ground of support will crumble in. He’s not invincibile and he’s not smart.

Padilla identified himself. They want you to be intimidated.

They're taking college students. Not criminals. We know the NYT won't ever write it this way, so it's time to be a forwarding Facebook aunt and send these stories to your family that still reads emails and make it clear that this has nothing to do with anything besides white supremacy.

Kristi Noem must resign. She has deported a four year old with cancer, detained a U.S. marshal, and arrested two members of Congress. She’s lost the confidence of the American people. ICE must stop terrorizing our communities.

Nazism is when thugs throw a US Senator to the ground. 100% Nazi behavior.

SCHATZ: "This is the stuff of dictatorships. He identified himself. That should be enough."

Senator Padilla was driven violently to his knees–as if made to kneel before the authority of the executive–because the administration called his questions “disrespectful”. This should offend not just the other 99 Senators. It should offend the conscience of this country.

Just so we're all clear: It's not a coincidence that the first senator they've used physical force against is Sen. Alex Padilla, a Latino man representing California.

It will be much healthier as a society without any centralized platforms. The original Web was very interest-driven. Not a unified concept. We need to get back to that and move away from Solipsism as core belief. It’s created toxic reactionary personalities who only want to feed their ego.

Neutrality is something that can happen on a protocol level but that’s it. Once that in is place you’re going to be dealing with the ethos or community of a place. Which, if it’s rotten, going to create a lot of bad experiences, and lead to fracturing into alternatives. That’s a good thing.

The whole concept of a digital commons is erroneous to begin with. Doesn’t even exist in the real world. People are linked by commonality, not extreme difference. You don’t go to a bar to argue with people. You go to watch a sporting event with others. Any rowdiness is self imposed within protocol.

The question of moderation is never going to get resolved with corporate-controlled siloed social media platforms. They don’t care. Being unethical is a business. Another reason why decentralization is vital. Take away the extremism. The algorithmic megaphone. And let users decide what to engage.

Societies…communities…need to curb awful behavior. That’s always been necessary. Only then can you open a path toward redemption. But just ignoring stuff, letting it fester, allowing crazy people to get bolder, that’s going to hurt society in long run. Extremism isn’t healthy.

Not supporting dirtbags shouldn’t be controversial. It’s common sense. If you’re qualifying bad behavior you’ve already missed the point. People won’t change if you don’t give them a reason too.

My red line is people who support nazism. It’s not a difficult choice. Not supporting any brand, product, app, etc. that supports hate ideologies. I guess others feel differently but your participation is ad dollars for them which keeps the circus going. Hate is being funded when you use X.

Who’s more addicted? People on heroin or people who can’t leave X? Even after the CEO/owner flashed Nazi salutes, peddled antisemitism, and promoted far right conspiracy theories. I mean seriously. People are so addicted to that app they’re willing to overlook how awful the guy is. Zero conscience.

The ‘is Bluesky bad’ debate is the same bullshit from the same provocateurs who brought you the ‘is LA rioting’ debate.

i’d be curious to know whether any of the journalists who have taken to bluesky had prior experience in an earlier internet age with forums. for me at least, my acculturation into the social internet was by way of forums and so the lack of an algorithm seems natural to me.

Walmart Heiress…of the Walton family is anti-Trump. In case you were wondering how extreme the right wing has become. They’ve lost Walmart. Where are all the centrists now?

I told you we’d be back

I could be wrong but I just don’t think AI will succeed. It doesn’t have any of the hallmarks of other historical trends. It’s over-promising, hyped, heavily corporate, and valued instantly like its fine Artwork. All backwards appreciation, very similar to other speculative bubbles that imploded.

In the 1990’s nobody could have foreseen the explosive nature of the Web to reshape society. It was unforeseeable to anyone being honest, who lived through dial-up internet days. But now everyone on earth sees the AI future & what it will deliver in basically 2-3yrs. Right. Smells a lot like fraud.
