As an American, I can’t thank you enough..I totally understand this stance. We have started a similar process of de-technifying and pulling back on spending. They are trying to bury us with a cascade of orders so let’s bury them in avalanche of defiant counter actions in return. Thank You!

Agree. We lived in ON & NS for about 6 yrs and there was alot more produce available from Europe, Israel & Morocco. We are so close to Mexico & California, it makes sense. I was shopping at Safeway today and it was challenging to find any produce other than US.

I was disappointed that my local Superstore in Halifax had no stickers or labeling. The store app had its own Made in Canada page but once at the store everyone had to peer at the fine print on the cans and boxes.

It's quite the endeavor. I suspect they are working hard to get those labels up. Think it will take time to roll out. My biggest pet peeve right now is produce on the West Coast is labeled USA or Mexico. So limited choice in the produce section that I am confident buying.

Fortunately a lot of our our produce is either local or Ontario (greenhouse grown?) or from countries other than the States. Only once in the past two weeks have I had to put something back because of its origin. Annoyed by packaged items that simply say imported by some Canadian based company.

Buying at small local markets, community stores, and farm shopping supports the 99%ers. For example Jimmy Pattison owns Save-On Foods, and a myriad of other markets and businesses (including monopolizing BC’s wild salmon catch), being a Canadian 1%er. FYI for those for whom it’s important. 🤷🏻‍♀️💪🏼
