i really don't know, the future is unwritten and i can't read it even if it were written, but planning a lightning war on the federal government feels like the kind of thing you don't really want to telegraph for two months in advance, but that's exactly what we're seeing

Also, it’s not like we can build fortifications in response now that we know his plans. There’s not much downside to the publicity
Which means they've learned absolutely nothing from previous supervillains.
Don’t give up.
So yeah, I'm sure they'll react real well to this appointment

I was in the Guard. The Regular Army has a serious "we are better than they are problem".
It's not that the Guard doesn't have it's weaknesses, but it's not fundamentally different.
So taking a VERY junior officer, from the JV, and putting him in charge of the Pros... problem.
...y'know what, I'm not even gonna look that one up. Pretty sure I nailed it ☜(゚ヮ゚☜)
The fact that this civilian was also a national guard soldier doesn't change that.
The fact that he's a horrible civilian and was a horrible national guard soldier and is a horrible human being?
That matters a lot.
Trump might get the civil war he’s been hyping, tho not in a way he likes.
Bluesky folks. Glad to be here and out of the toxic muck of X. I want to be more active here and would appreciate a follow. Sane politics. Advertising writer. Aspiring author. Amy hubby. Madison co-creator. Cocker + cats. Somewhat funny, insightful. Occasionally both.
I personally think Noem and Homan will have the power to bludgeon both labor and capital into acquiescence, but what do I know.
Given that I don’t think it matters they are telegraphing here as the GOP Senate is now just a rubber stamp.
