The Trump Administration just authorized the sale of a gun component that turns semi-automatic firearms into machine guns. This is a devastating move, and the Administration will have blood on their hands when this policy inevitably leads to lives lost. Proud of my lifetime F rating with the NRA.

I know very little about guns (I live in Australia, not the US).

I do understand that the US gun lobby is wealthy & powerful and that Trump appreciates their support and will do anything to maintain it.

But why does the gun lobby want this? If they're already selling the guns, why do they care?
