Scott Crossfield was the 1st person to flynat Mach 2, & very few people remember. I think as a country we Americans don't do a great job of remembering our history.
In aviation circles, if you are of a certain age, she is well known. Cochrane's life could be a movie, but probably needs a mini-series to do it justice.
