My most requested baked goods are Andes mints cookies (they're like a chewy thin mint) and pecan pie muffins. Snickerdoodles are also popular--a classic oldie but goodie.

They’re so good and the dough keeps in the fridge well, so I tend to bake some and then bake the rest a couple of days later. Grinding your own fresh cardamom is best obv but I’ve made them plenty with pre-ground and they’re still delicious.

I made peanut butter cup fudge this year.

Reese’s peanut butter cup minis
1 can Sweetened condensed milk
1 11.5 Oz bag milk chocolate chips
Reese’s pieces candies

Layer minis in bottom of an 8x8 (13x9 if you double it)
Combine milk and chips in a microwave safe bowl and nuke for 1 minute, stir, continue to heat in 10 sec increments until melted.
Pour half mix over pb cups
Press Reese’s pieces into mix
Pour other half
Chop remaining PBCups for garnish
Freeze

Last year my wife made Mexican hot chocolate cookies, I think the recipe is from the NY Times. They’re to die for, there’s some cinnamon, marshmallows and most importantly, just enough cayenne. She’s doing a batch this year too.

Pepperkakors

1/2 C butter
1/2 C margarine or crisco
1 1/4 C sugar
1 egg
1 T dark corn syrup
1 tsp baking soda
1 T cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cloves
2 1/2 C flour

mix all in mixer
chill overnight

roll into little balls
flatten balls w/ bottom of glass dipped in sugar

Bake at 350* for 7-9 min

Next year, I will probably try baking for longer and/or at a higher temperature because they should get a little crispy on the bottom. I may also try a little less flour so they melt in your mouth better.

oh interesting! I haven't yet earned this family recipe (lol) but I know my grandma rolls her dough into thin logs and then chops that to get her rounds, rather than forming balls. pepperkakor are very good and so easy to eat by the handful hehe

¾ pound unsalted butter, room temperature (always add a touch more as sometimes they come out too dry when mixing ingredients)
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 ½ cups flour
¼ tsp salt
¾ cup chopped dried cranberries
1 cup chopped pistachios
1 cup white chocolate chips

Cream together butter and sugar. Mix in vanilla. In separate bowl, whiskey together the flour and salt. Add the flour and salt to the butter mixture and until it starts to come together. Add cranberries, pistachios and white chocolate chips a half cup at a time until incorporated.

Mix until dough ball forms. Roll into a log about 2 inches in diameter in wax paper. Chill in fridge for at least an hour. Preheat oven to 350°F and line sheet with parchment paper.

Slice the log into ¼ inch slices. Place the slices on the sheet pan (they don't spread much so they can be closer together). Bake for 10-13 minutes.
