Basically a lot of cues were much darker in tone originally, and they were rewritten and re recorded

Wow, I didn’t know that. It’s a terrific score. I love how the opening of the film is done without score, by the way, and isn’t the theme coming in pretty late? Silvestri and Zemeckis do great things together.

Yeah, initially the theme appeared over the title, but they dropped it so it first appears when Marty is trying to get away from the Libyans.

Just finished watching the film at an MPSE event in Toronto with Scott in attendance…still a great looking and sounding film that engaged the audience entirely. Thanks to the MPSE and Vaughan International Film Festival for a great evening.
