It’s quite a profound moment, really. Wonderful football moments 17 years apart, meaning that you inevitably think about everything that you’ve seen and done between then and now.

My daughter was a month away from being born 17 years ago when I last had this feeling at 4am on the Gold Coast! Tonight we danced together 🤍 What a feeling
Lovely point made here Seb. I got engaged the day after we won in '08, now married with three boys, and enjoyed this triumph at the pub with my eldest and all our Spurs mates from the grassroots club I coach at. The best of times.
The implication that the teams of 2008 and 2025 were better than anything that came between shows measuring a side & success only through silverware is a fallacy. But as an emotional outlet, god does winning feelings good. I was at Wembley in 08 & would have given my right arm to have been in Bilbao
In 2010 I stayed at a friend's house because my parents were visiting my brother and I had a big game with my youth team. We woke up early to watch a soccer game because his favorite team were playing their rivals, and we watched on a terrible pirate stream because it wasn't available in the US (1/)
He was an Arsenal fan. I, being a contrarian, decided I would root for his rivals. Danny Rose. What a magic moment. While there have been many times I've questioned why I choose to follow Spurs, there were always moments of magic that kept me around. Bale's hat trick. Lucas Moura's hat trick. (2/)
But this really tops them all, even with how awful this season has felt at times. This payoff really does make all the heartbreak of the last 15 years watching this team feel worth it. And I hate how susceptible I am to just the vibes of it all. COYS (/end)
