Our only (slim) hope is that Trump & Co. are too incompetent to make this work as quickly as they want.

I’m also hopeful that Biden did a better job cleaning house than we gave him credit for. I think that Trump is going to be starting from scratch more than he’s expecting.

Removing/sidelining Trump loyalists, or filling positions that had been left vacant, thus diluting the potential impact of Trump’s people. I was a Federal contractor and I saw this on a small scale in my little corner of the EPA.

Great, they want us on the chain gang to get Medicaid. The people on Medicaid are already working multiple low wage jobs, are old or have a disability. I’m one of those people in the latter group. It’s unconscionable to do these things to the most vulnerable. The cruelty is most definitely the point

Unlike all the stupid nonsense Trump spouts, this is something we can tangibly resist. Putting pressure on individual senators and reps via phone calls and showing up at public events is exactly the kind of action that kills toxic bills like this. The GOP is a fragile coalition. Hospitals rely on Medicare and Medicaid funding for a majority of their funding for inpatient stays. Cutting these programs would GUT hospital funding.

Here’s the thing though: if I were to show this document to family who voted for him they would say things like, “It says Strengthen Medicare for seniors and Making Medicare Work for the most vulnerable.” They would think I’m pushing an agenda and adding my own spin to what it written. If this goes through (hoping that Congress doesn't have the margin to do it), not only are groceries and rent going up and not down, but elderly parents are also moving in with their adult children - if the children are kind enough. Others might just die.
