Do they need to meet with the FDA? After all, there’s no competent leadership there anymore. The advisors should meet privately with Sanofi and other major players in flu vaccine production and set the composition of next year’s vaccine. This needs to be done!

Also, did you know that there are 1 million breeder hens in PA that produce embryonated eggs for flu vaccine production at Sanofi’s Pocono plant? To date, I don’t believe that any breeder birds have tested + for HPAI and the biosecurity practiced at these farms is top notch. 🤞

I've been getting regular flu shots for several years, and I haven't had the flu during those years.

Several years ago, before I started getting the shots, it seemed like I caught the flu nearly every season.

I rely on vaccines to help me stay healthy. I don't want to go back to getting sick! 🤬

For those not familiar with flu vaccine production, it takes about 6 months to do…this means they need to start in March to decide which strains to include & then begin production in April to get it to us by September.

Our manufacturing is typically done for supplying Canada and possibly another couple smaller countries. As is, i'm not sure our current production facilities could churn out enough to also supply the US. Or that we'd have enough supply in border areas, to accommodate US people coming over for them.

AFAIK Canada typically place our orders to the manufacturers here, who already have an idea of which variants they're going to be focused on. But I DON'T think we usually contribute to that decision. Hopefully if we don't, our federal health agency sees a need to start that up immediately.
