Had such fun surprising a friend with a birthday cake today (simple as I thought we might be enjoying it at a park), then learned it was the first one she'd had since childhood. 💕

It's a "burgundy" velvet cake (I added butterfly pea powder to deepen the tone), flavoured with clove & lavender sugar.
