The "Asian women and their small nimble fingers" has been a racist trope used in electronics manufacture basically ever since semiconductor firms started manufacturing there in the 1950s, hope that helps guy

Yes, in the 1980s/1990s corporations justified moving labor-intensive factory work to Asia with gendered/racialized stereotypes of "docile" and "nimble" Asian woman workers who were "naturally" good with their fingers and so could be paid lower wages.
