The only times I've appreciated this, has been being informed a person I'm following is a right-wing bigot, with receipts of their bigotry. (I was a bit oblivious back on twitter)
literally one of the worst things on all social media. We've gotten "hey you know that artist draws X and I will judge you if you keep following" messages every site we've been on but here, we're honestly assuming here is only a matter of time too lmao
You see, the person you're following is into the things that I don't like, which are bad, as opposed to the things that I like, which are good and will get me into heaven
Draw the line at child/cub stuff. There is a weird gray area of story where someone wants to tell about adolescent sexual awakening or explore it and/parody it that walks a fine line but it usually gives me an ick.
I think about that one tweet a lot that described the basis of modern puritanical American sex/kink discourse values as being based on the idea of "what if someone is experiencing pleasure they aren't suppose to" instead of "what if someone's boundaries are being violated"
The misunderstanding of what boundaries are is tangential, but I'm more talking about how people are basing their moral structure re; sex/kink on "is someone finding pleasure from something gross/taboo" instead of basing their morals on if there is tangible harm being done to real people.
Basically, it's disgust-based morality that I feel is the root cause of a lot of this. For people who think like that, if something is "gross" that makes it automatically morally wrong, and anyone who find "gross" things arousing is morally corrupt, regardless of if they've actually hurt anyone.
i remember seeing a post about the public response to SA being more often focused on condemning the perpetrators than the harm which was caused to the victims, and lending support to them. that really stuck with me.
Oh no what a horrible thing for someone to uh... make porn of a non living thing made exclusively of synthetic fibers? Seriously of all the types of porn I see people get up in arms about the one I least understand is hatred of plushophilia.
Regarding my thing for pregnancy I've heard "uhhhh there's a baby in there you sicko are you some kind of pedophile" the backwards logic can be truly mesmerizing who tf knows
I can understand being personally uncomfortable having sexuality in proximity to plush toys. I generally don't like NSFW ponies for that reason. But just because one may feel an ick doesn't mean it's objective and needs a crusade, lol.
Yeah that's understandable. I wish more folks could be like you and myself that understand a squick is not a moral thing. You can be grossed out by something that isn't genuinely harmful ya know.
my dad owns xbox and he's going to add your fursona to the official microsoft DNI list if you don't stop drawing rocko from rocko's modern life in a diaper
why does this remind me of that one post from the before times where the gay kid demanded free art of his fursona from an artist, then yelled at the artist to pulldown his gay porn so that the kid's father didn't see it, and like a decade later the artist drew the kid's fursona from the description?
I swear, I swear if anyone has any idea of what the hell I'm talking about I'll be so happy, it was such a bizarre long epic yarn, and this post hits that note as parody.
I think the takeaway the ability to see something harmless you don't like, go "i don't like that," then simply go about your day is the online equivalent of a superpower

if it's fiction it's icky afterall, since people are actually *GASP* enjoying themselves.
Fictional characters will be free m defended but real people will be harassed for liking something the wrong way
the bit that it doesn't quite cover is the complete misunderstanding of what boundaries even ARE: personal limits one sets for oneself
not demands imposed on other people
folks tend SAY boundarieswhen they actually MEAN ultimatum
"anon I assure you that I knew I was looking at the having sex with stuffed animals art blog"
Anyways plush fuck good
which is fucking bonkers, lmao
Checkmate, liberals
I'm sorry, english is not my native language. (and i should probably be sleeping. xd)
