Maybe companies that go full remote need to do it in good faith. Spend the money they would save on office space on more frequent team/company gatherings.

My guess. The real issue is our form of capitalism demands constant, unrealistic growth that prevents investing in remote work with the same capital you'd put toward office space.
Well shit. Full remote (never having to leave the house) should beget being open to quarterly travel. Certainly there will be exceptions, but the norm for WFH should include wilingness to travel for on sites with the team.

• informal gatherings are hard, so help make them happen
• make the gatherings have purpose; "we're going to hang out" is a purpose, but "we are putting you all in Seattle for a weekend" is not
• there's no water cooler, so help people find other ways to connect 1:1
* distributed culture expertise is scarce and uncommon
* people build the most work trust by *doing work together*, not unfocused hangs
* in my experience, some people just flatly refuse to travel at all. Which I am coming around to find unacceptable.
