What the fuck?? I watched that column of smoke on the horizon for days. I remember my gay friends in high school whose parents died. They wept while they waited to see if their parents had survived. Pride is a celebration of endurance, not terror. This is epistemic poison.
If you think that American imperialism (which has killed far more people and caused far more destruction globally) is a joke or not a big deal, you should take no issue with this
Anti imperialism, anti colonialism, and anti capitalism are the entire point of pride. This attitude disrespects events like trans march where we still get beaten up by cops at times, and stand up for social justice anyway. This slop is toxic, it just causes divisions and misconceptions about queers
I never said anti imperialism and such were in conflict with pride. My point was completely unrelated. It was simply that if people think American Imperialism is a joke, they shouldn't take issue with 9/11 jokes. I never brought up queer people
I take issue with this joke because i am anti imperialist, queer, trans and this meme directly harms my community. I don’t like 9/11 jokes because that was my primary teenage trauma, i lived mere miles away. I can remember the debris blowing through the air. The terror when comms went offline.
Do you have any idea what it’s like to see a building of that size collapse on the horizon in real life??? And at the same time that Israel is bombing Palestine into oblivion???? Shameful.
Comparing Americans to Palestinians is fucking laughable. The average American who does crocodile tears about 9/11 doesn't give a fuck about way more destruction on the other side of the globe
The average American only gives a shit about 9/11 because Americans got hurt. It effected them. If Bin Laden were an American doing what he did to Palestinians or Iraqis or Libyans or whoever, they wouldn't give a single fuck.
