The ruling class knows their survival depends on indoctrinating the next generation, which is why they're forcing archaic religious texts like the Bible into classrooms to suppress any critical thought and reinforce obedience.

See? My state is stuck on stupid.
Not that there's anything wrong with the Bible, it's the way it is interpreted and it doesn't belong in public schools.
I don't know if it's that intentional. I just think that fundamentalists be fundamental. Pathetic, divisive, and scary. BUT... what can one expect from the land of Greg Abbott and Ted Cruz?!
They have screamed about the constitution and the founding fathers for as long as I can remember and a national religion just doesn't mesh with that. What a con.
The youth are both the clay that the elites hope to mold and the fire that could burn their empire to the ground, so they're working overtime to brainwash them into worshiping the very systems that oppress them.
Teaching kids to think critically and challenge authority would topple the ruling class' stranglehold on society, so they carefully sanitize education to avoid any discussion of systemic oppression.
If students were taught to question power, the whole facade would collapse, so the elites make sure schools churn out passive workers instead of revolutionary thinkers.
Forcing the Bible into classrooms isn't about education, it's about grooming kids into unquestioning obedience, with its teachings on submission and hierarchy perfectly serving the ruling class' agenda.

I wanna see more of these. Not much point in looking at "the otherside" when "our side" allows people to ever be referred to as "Russian bote" or "Russian Trolls" without them being absolutely canceled and those who support them canceled. This site is crawling with these types. No comfort here.
It is a trip to the past when people were hanged for having a puppet! Today's Puritans are not real Christians, all they want is Power over their neighbors!
As a survivor of Catholic schools you are 💯 dead on
That’s exactly what it is about..grooming unquestioned and obedient children. I got into big trouble in grammar school because I asked too many questions.
"Many interpretations of Christian doctrines emphasize submission to authority, acceptance of suffering, and deference to hierarchical structures... all of which align with ruling-class priorities."

This is why so many MAGAt & Trump supporters are anti-science- it teaches you critical thinking skills. See also Farage & Reform here in the UK. The media have been complicit pushing facts & opinion as equivalent.
I attended a liberal religious school and the basic inclusion of religious elements isn't going to move the needle much in terms of life outlook. Parents and peers have far more influence. This is simply a play to encourage othering of different believers.
As Sen. Markwayne has worried, I don't think its going to turn out how they expect when they assign a bunch of atheists and agnostics to teach the Bible.
To think there were already schools for this but nope, let's take it to the next level. Least there's going to be plenty of book burnings for the next 4 years - for the Bible that is.
Having been confronted with unrelenting evidence of who Donald Trump was through three election cycles, a constitutionally sufficient number of Americans chose a narcissistic egomaniac who has been convicted on multiple felony charges and indicted on many more.
Children are born atheist, there are no Catholic, Muslim, Jewish, or Hindu children, they are being indoctrinated into religion! Let them grow up and decide for themselves.
Exactly! This belongs in church, Sundays schools and within your own families and personal infrastructures. The public school system caters to many different individuals with diverse religious backgrounds and atheists. I said what I said. Keep your indoctrination out of the public school system!
Problem is - speaking from personal experience - when you attempt to indoctrinate kids with religion, you can cause them to rebel for life against it. I did.

That stuff about giving away all you have and helping the poor tends to get a bit less attention.

In very few spaces are they treated like adults and it shows.
It aims to rip context away from history and people, exactly for the sake of that indoctrination.
