A year and a half ago, I watched our local news one night run multiple stories of violent crimes where the suspect was "allowed to get away" because of a change to WA state's police pursuit laws. Then they followed that with a hit-piece on the black woman heading up the subcommittee in our state

I wrote a letter of complaint to the parent company (hey, Sinclair!) and also reached out to local newspapers hoping someone would care and maybe say something. No one did. I guess it's fine to use the local news to threaten and intimidate elected officials on behalf of the police.

I would remind them that journalists kissing the blue line's ass seems nonreciprocal. They offer insufficient protection to the journalist, why should the journalist offer them limitless cover?
