I removed Twitter from my phone after the election because I was essentially micro-dosing despair. Finally moved over here when more of the people I follow on Twitter made the jump. Now I don't even have Twitter bookmarked on my PC anymore. It's not a debate on Twitter, its just screaming.

Certainly leans that way just due to general ideologies, but it's definitely just a huge amount of people in general. Thing is even if you ignore the slurs/racism and other horrible things, it's also just chock full of bots, ai garbage, and bloated/broken features. It's just an awful site overall.

Depends on the person i'd say. There's been studies going back decades now that have generally shown that accidental exposure to information (as opposed to actively seeking it out) facilitated more engagement in public affairs. Its like a modern variant of the passive learning findings of the 70s.
