In Costa Rica we have a Communist Party but everything was also failing apart at the start of the XX Century. So even if they were a minority party, the social policies were adopted by other political parties to achieve enough votes and political power.
The Social Rights even survived the civil war.

Yes the Nordic model exists to preserve capitalism. If you wanna continue to exploit the working class and extract profit from them without fear of consequences you've got to keep them comfortable. Also helps that they are wealthy nations that are well off at the expense of the global south.

Trivia:
The widespread fear among the bourgeoisie in Sweden is what led to the overwhelming dominance of the Social Democratic party.

They had a choice, heavy social reforms or revolution.

The scale of the reforms can't be overstated, it was widespear & all compassing.
