Is there more clarification on the registration fee? i.e. if a competitor registers to an event with a 10$ entry fee, does the competitor pay 10$ and the fee is taken out of it? Or does the competitor pay $10 + a https://start.gg fee, and ends up paying like $11?

The balance patch article clarifies this as a +6% on top of the registration total. I think it's fair (the site must be crazy expensive to run) and doesn't take money out of TO's pockets.

Pay in cash happens at the venue, so it goes directly to the organizer, completely outside of start-gg’s control.
