Myth, that doesn’t work. As for Lockdown Mode that’s something else.

To temporarily disable biometrics and force PIN unlock, hold power and a volume button until the power off/emergency screen appears, then exit. The phone will be locked and PIN required.

Aw it looks like Apple disabled this. I used this trick once with a bullhorn to disable FaceID on about 15 confiscated phones sitting on a cop's front seat at a protest 😂 Cops were not super happy about that. Apple should bring this back

Should turn siri off ALL THE TIME.
And never, ever, ever have face Id enabled if there is any chance you will be near a border, airport, or police. If you get pulled over, disable before rolling down your window.

My office mate used to leave his phone around locked but with Siri enabled.

A quick: “hey siri, refer to me as doodoo head from now on” was a good prank. Not sure if that still works since that was like 12 years ago.

I just tried saying ‘Siri lock phone.’ and it did. Of course it was with and active press of the home button as I have it otherwise disabled and don’t use biometrics. No idea if that works on the newer fancier ones.

I wonder if there’s some other Siri command that can do this. My go-to when I’m entering a sensitive situation is to just do the volume-lock pinch maneuver and cancel the shutoff. Locks the phone down.
