Advocating for semantic HTML will be much harder going forward, because any designer can point at Figma and say "but this is how they do it." And what can you say? It IS how they do it, and they encourage others to do it because it is the tool that they chose to release.

But optimizing doing the wrong thing doesn't make the thing righter! More effort will go into building pants sites overall, because of Figma Sites.
Designers who want to be more strategic will be defining the info arch & content. Designers who want to work in delivery will focus on the HTML/CSS.
Figma Sites is entirely backwards facing; it serves neither function.
The code generated is completely trash *and* lacks any kind of support for semantic inputs. The only thing it's good at is for layout makers to make layouts that stakeholders can "approve" or "validate."
