AI cookbook index, under G: - gasoline - glue

Oh, you're a mathematician? Name every number

Reflecting on how the labeler feature on here went from "the community protects itself! 😊" to "what are you, a cop?" in like 3 months.

There are two kinds of cultures: - there are no wrong answers - there are no right answers

2021: There is no AI, you're doing your own laundry. 2023: CEOs are saying that AI is coming and will do your laundry. 2025: There is AI. You're still doing your own laundry. 2027: You're doing the AI's laundry.

CEOs value their ability to call employees racial slurs at $34B and counting.

Oh man do NOT get me started on this 99% of modern UX is framed as "visual problem solving" and "usability" which translates to "the business creates a shitty system and we solve some of those problems on the interface layer." Solving problems *you created* is net negative value.

The ideology of eternal progress is incompatible with observed reality. Every AI booster starts their argument with "in the future when the models are better..." But they're not actually getting better. More GPUs and training data is actually producing negative results.

History is great because you get things like: - the Greek colony in India - the Viking kingdom in Siciliy - the name Tiffany being perfectly ordinary in the 13th century
