Recently I realized that Smartfood white cheddar popcorn, the snack of snacks, did not taste as good as it used to. Was it me? Please accept my mad investigation into the recipe https://www.eater.com/24394718/smartfood-white-cheddar-popcorn-recipe-change-cheesy-flavor-investigation

My childhood loss is the change in the HoneyMade Graham Crackers made around the turn of the century. It was not just the taste, the changed texture meant they no longer held up when covered in milk like cereal.
My solution has been popping corn at home, shellacking it with coconut oil spray, and shaking on TONS of King Arthur powdered cheddar. It doesn't stick as well as the og Smartfood but it is close!
In molecular gastronomy, it's used to "powderize" oils, which might be what it's being used for here
It must have been around 90-91 time frame. Smartfood was not generally available in my region. I stumbled on it in one random convenience store and every time I was in the area, I picked up a few bags.
