Listening to a piece on the radio about why people are reverting to old shows on streamers. One big thing in my mind is that shows now get cancelled after a season or two, and each season is short. So it's hard to truly dig in to something with confidence, and there isn't the luxury of a 22 ep ssn.

Something like Stranger Things could easily support 16+ episodes a season with every other ep a stand alone monster of the week episode.
But showrunners seem to want to write every ep now.
