I love this, one of my favourite under the radar indie mythology games. Kitfox has done some wonderful stuff--can be hard for others to get past the somewhat awkward & difficult default combat to understand the ritualistic specialness that comes with multiple plays
The music is the best and instantly conjures that world, that's exactly how I played it. Sitting on the edge of the bed late into the night β¨ππ
I've looked up a few of their soundtracks since and a fan as well
It's an amazing storyline game about Mae (the cat) having a crisis. It's beautiful and has so much to explore! I've played 3 times and always find something I didn't know about everytime I play!
Katana Zero, itβs a 5-7 hour experience and in return you get a crazy story, tight gameplay, an amazing soundtrack, and some of the most beautiful and alive pixel art
Iβd say it depends upon what youβre looking for, the style you like to play etc. If you want a more emotional game but more story based and quick Iβd recommend what became of Edith finch. If you like horror and donβt mind something longer Iβd recommend Alice Madness Returns etc.
I'm playing Star Trek: Resurgence right now, though on underpowered hardware so the experience isn't particularly great.
It's good Trek though, and the story and characters are solid enough to keep me going through the Telltale-ness of it all (they're normally not my type)
If you don't mind going older, TNG: A Final Unity is a solid point and click adventure imo, and DS9: The Fallen is a fairly competent shooter with different paths depending on if you play as Kira, Worf, or Sisko.
I'm also playing through Hidden Evil, which is a sequel to the 2002 ST: Nemesis movie.
I don't know what you like or played so I'll make a general list.
Tales of Vesperia, any of the Spyro or Crash trilogy, Fire Emblem Awakening, Aria of Sorrow, or an SMT/Persona game.
Humankind is fun, if you're into turned based rts games. A bit like Civilisation. It's slow. Lots of fun events unfold through history. Sometimes those events get called back centuries later. You can spread your faith or culture. Each culture, all based on real civs, has its own perks. I'm boring.
I have no idea what games you're into but I'm currently playing Aliens: Dark Descent and it's been alot of fun so far. It's available for free on PS+ but only for a few more days.
Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV with an expanded free trial which you can play through A Realm Reborn and the award-winning Heavensward expansion and also award-winning Stormblood expansion up to level 70 with no restrictions on playtime?
I consistently recommend Warframe. Itβs free (not ptw), has a good story, nice community (most will just give you stuff), and is fully cross platform/save.
Some games I think everyone should play once (No Order):
* Breath of Fire IV
* Martello Tower
* The Last Campfire
* Tekken 8
* Stardew Valley or Littlewood
* Maniac Mansion or Monkey Island
* FE: Fates; Awakening; POR; RD; GOTHW
* FF 4 to 10.
* Megaman 2; X; Command Mission
* FW Dizzy
* RE series
Sable. Just playing it at the moment. Think of an open world Journey with no combat but climbing and puzzles with a gorgeous cell shading and you're close. Totally in love with it.
After playing Metaphor Refantazio and experiencing how it handed off between ARPG on the overworld and turn-based in combat I really want to try the Sky remake's advertised mechanic swap... uh... mechanic.
Might I suggest my fellow mallows and I? We are in the new game called Roast ! It's a cozy card game about roasting marshmallows around the campfire with friends and family ^_^
Critical fishing. Fishing but with a sub and a gun. Or Drege for that lovely fishing with just a hint a chaos. Or Satisfactory...or Silent Hill 2 remake. Hope they are some half decent suggestions!
been wanting to play this for a long time but canβt find a physical copy for a decent price. iβve also never played a fire emblem so i donβt know how much iβm missing out if i start playing tokyo mirage sessions.
Itβs totally separate from both Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei, I think the story only references them do doesnβt require any knowledge to play. The mechanics are also unique to the game.
Another option for you that might be cheaper, get the Japanese version, rip the rom and apply the fan translation patch. Itβs a bit more work and it wouldnβt be the exact same game as the official English release was over localised and altered a lot of content to make it βwestern-audience-friendlyβ.
maybe iβll do that. only experience i have with switch emulation is playing a fan translation of tsukihime remake before the official translation came out. it took some time messing around to get running from what i remembered tho.
It is incredible, one of my goty's from last year.
PC and Xbox, I think. Not sure if there are plans for a port - I think it's the first game of a small Austrian team.
Maybe some good Indie games! If you're looking for something fun, with some catchy tunes, I'd recommend Hi-Fi Rush! If you're looking for horror, I'd recommend FNAF, Bendy and the ink machine, Poppy playtime, my friendly neighborhood, and finding Frankie to name a few!
Are shameless plugs allowed? If you like retro RPGs, we made one inspired by the early Final Fantasies (of course, not so perfect or epic, just a small-scale indie game, around 15 hours of gameplay). It's called The Stuff Fairy Tales Are Made Of, and it's free (downloadable on itch).
Sea of Stars ended up being my favorite game of last year, highly recommend it! And by last year I mean 2023 because 2025 is a definitely a fake science fiction future year number π

It's very Cosy but low on the Gameplay. That doesnt work for everyone.
Or an older RPG from the 90s Grandia

Once done with that, explore PICO-8 and all the games in it.
I also just played Snufkin Melody of Moominvalley with my kids, which I really enjoyed. + a DLC just dropped in December
Trx Murphy is the reason I went to school to be a PI. Didn't work out, but loved every minute of it.
(Either the original on Steam with ultra wide screen support or the 3D remake in late 2025.)

For a game you likely havenβt played but isnβt new at all itself: Save the World
