Autism doesn't just disappear at 18. Adults struggle with autism too. They have jobs, own houses, and pay taxes just like everyone else. How is that a burden on society or their families?

Many autistics, myself included, do not consider autism a disorder, but a neurotype. The neurotypical approach to neurodiversity pathologizes difference, but we see it as a point of natural biodiversity, w/ its own strengths and challenges.
Well yes but what do the people looking for a cure think? That they can wipe the baggage and keep the gifts? I know it doesn’t work like that but still.
They don't see anyone as fully realized humans besides themselves. Autistic people may need government assistance and that cuts into the billionaire's money. They only see us as either, a worker who can be exploited for profit or a drain on government assistance.
