Ros Eeles may indeed be right that a PRS to augment prostate cancer screening could turn the tide. These data could also be used to improve detection/prevention of many more diseases. Its a long road for clinical implementation but looks worth it.

I really don't want to be a skeptic but I am curious to know if the appropriate endpoint is survival vs a group that didn't receive the screen. did these interventions help?

Especially appropriate concern in the case of prostate cancer, given that treatment provides less net benefit than you might think. Though the above paper does focus on individuals with cancers assessed as higher risk.
