I wrote a whole paper in graduate school criticizing the Units of Study, so I’m not a fan by any means. Still, this is insane and sets a horrific precedent. It’s the type of zealotry that can only be found in the newly converted & under informed.
Which it feels like I’m constantly defending LC these days which is funny considering how much I complained about the curriculum a few years ago. But it feels like we’ve reached true witch hunt levels.
💯. The irony is that, by pinning our alleged literacy struggles on a tiny group & ramming through shoddy legislation, we’re just going to trade one curriculum box for another. Only this one has a SoR™️ label on it! IMO, the real structural problem is that we treat curriculum like a commodity.
